Senior Oracle Fusion HCM Security Specialist (Freelance)

Sidekick Network is looking for a highly experienced Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Security Specialist for a focused security assessment and remediation engagement within an international HR environment.

The current landscape contains numerous custom roles copied from seeded roles, with limited transparency over role inheritance, access permissions and underlying business requirements. Your task is to assess the existing setup and define a clear, maintainable security model.

Tasks

• Audit the HCM security configuration across Development, Test and Production .

• Analyse role hierarchies, inheritance, privileges and relationships between seeded and custom roles.

• Identify excessive access, redundant roles, inconsistencies and security risks.

• Review custom roles derived from seeded roles and recommend how to simplify and maintain them.

• Translate business access requirements into a structured target role model.

• Develop a practical Segregation of Duties (SoD) concept, including relevant conflicts, controls and exceptions.

• Analyse Areas of Responsibility (AORs) and HCM Data Security Profiles , identifying inappropriate scope, overlaps and cleanup needs.

• Assess access to sensitive HR, compensation and future payroll data.

• Work confidently within the Oracle Security Console to investigate and validate the configuration.

• Support agreed remediation activities and transfer knowledge to the internal team.

Expected deliverables:

• Security assessment covering all three environments, with prioritised findings.

• Role inventory and overview of inheritance, dependencies and relevant access permissions.

• Target role model and recommendations for streamlining seeded and custom roles.

• SoD concept with a proposed conflict matrix and handling of exceptions.

• AOR and Data Security Profile cleanup recommendations.

• Prioritised remediation roadmap, including validation steps and implementation dependencies.

• Handover documentation and a walkthrough with the internal team.

Requirements

• Extensive practical experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Security in productive environments.

• Strong understanding of job roles, abstract roles, duty roles, data roles, privileges and role inheritance.

• Proven experience with seeded roles, custom roles and the Oracle Security Console.

• Deep knowledge of AORs and HCM Data Security Profiles.

• Experience conducting security audits and redesigning complex HCM role landscapes.

• Practical expertise in SoD and access to sensitive HR and payroll data.

• Experience across several relevant HCM modules, ideally including Core HR, Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Helpdesk and Compensation.

• Ability to turn an unclear existing configuration into actionable recommendations and clear documentation.

• Strong English communication skills and confidence working with international HR and IT stakeholders.
