💡 Project Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an innovative, AI-first engineering team working on solutions for a leading financial group in Japan.

You will contribute to the development and evolution of modern financial applications, focusing on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

The role involves designing and developing end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks , going beyond traditional data processing to build robust applications, services, and integrated systems.

Senior Solution Engineer, you will take ownership of backend development, contribute to architectural decisions, and translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions.

While the primary focus is on Python backend engineering , the role also offers opportunities to work with frontend technologies such as . Advanced frontend expertise is not required, but openness to learning and contributing across the application stack is highly valued.

The project follows a Claude Code approach , where AI-powered development tools, coding assistants, and modern automation solutions are incorporated into everyday engineering workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and support innovative problem-solving.

📈 Your Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services using Python .

• Building end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks , including application components, integrations, and backend services.

• Designing and implementing REST APIs and integrating backend systems with external services.

• Developing and maintaining cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS .

• Taking ownership of technical solutions, from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment.

• Contributing to frontend development when needed, with opportunities to work with modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Leveraging AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.

• Exploring opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation into software development processes.

• Building prototypes, validating technical concepts, and delivering scalable solutions.

• Participating in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architectural discussions.

• Collaborating with cross-functional, international teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and performance optimization.

• Promoting engineering best practices, clean code, maintainability, and modern software development standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of commercial experience in Python backend development , with strong expertise in designing and building production-grade applications.

• Senior-level software engineering skills, including the ability to independently design, develop, and deliver complex technical solutions.

• Strong understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, and software design principles.

• Experience with cloud-based application development, preferably using AWS .

• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming, clean code principles, and software engineering best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD processes, version control systems, and modern development practices.

• Willingness to work with frontend technologies and contribute to frontend development when required.

• An AI-first mindset , with openness to using AI-assisted development tools, automation, and emerging technologies.

• Strong problem-solving skills, independence, and a solution-oriented approach.

• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions while considering scalability, performance, maintainability, and business requirements.

• Advanced English communication skills , both written and spoken, for collaboration with international clients and teams.

➕ Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Databricks , including basic knowledge of the platform and its capabilities.

• Practical experience with frontend development using React, , Angular , or other modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience with Claude Code or other AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.

• Experience developing applications in banking, fintech, or financial services.

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

• Experience with AI agents, agentic coding workflows, or AI-powered development automation.

• Experience designing technical solutions from scratch or contributing to architectural decisions.
