Finance Support / Accounting Assistant

About the Company Our client is a rapidly growing coffee roasting and manufacturing business supplying private-label coffee to major US retailers and businesses, including large convenience, restaurant and retail chains. As the business continues to grow, their finance team needs additional support with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end close activities. They are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Support / Accounting Assistant to join their growing team.

The Role This role will provide hands-on support to the finance team across AP, AR, reconciliations, inventory and month-end close. You will work alongside the company's Controller and Senior Accounting team, helping to keep financial processes accurate, organised and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

● Provide day-to-day support to the finance and accounting team ● Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) processes ● Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes ● Support month-end financial close ● Assist with account and bank reconciliations ● Help reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies ● Support inventory-related accounting and reporting ● Assist with reviewing and maintaining financial data ● Enter and update financial information accurately ● Help investigate and resolve discrepancies ● Work with the wider finance team to complete month-end requirements ● Use Sage to maintain and review financial information ● Communicate with internal teams via email, phone and Microsoft Teams ● Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure deadlines are met

Requirements

● Previous experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or finance support role ● Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ● Experience with bank and account reconciliations ● Understanding of month-end close processes ● Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy ● Experience using accounting software ● Sage experience is highly desirable ● Strong Excel skills ● Excellent organisational and time-management skills ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities ● Strong written and spoken English ● Good problem-solving skills

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be organised, dependable and highly detail-oriented , with a genuine understanding of accounting processes.

You should be comfortable working independently, spotting discrepancies and following tasks through to completion.

A strong sense of urgency is important, particularly around month-end close and financial deadlines.
