Bookkeeper

Salary: R29 000 – R32 000 per month

Remote Recruitment is hiring a Bookkeeper for a UK-based employer, fully remote from South Africa. You will own the monthly books for a UK business.

Role overview

You will keep the books of a UK business accurate and up to date, owning the day-to-day ledgers, reconciliations and month-end prep. This is a full-time, 100% remote role for South African talent, working UK hours: 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST).

Key responsibilities

• Record sales and purchase invoices

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

• Manage supplier payments and customer receipts

• Prepare month-end figures for review

• Keep records organised and audit-ready

What you'll need

• Experience as a bookkeeper or accounts clerk

• Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

• Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping

• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills

• Able to work 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with UK VAT

• Experience with Dext or Hubdoc

• A bookkeeping certificate
