The opportunity
The Academic Governance Manager serves to operate and administer academic governance-related activities across the university by working collaboratively with partners across academic units and other university departments. You will be a central contact and partner for all procedural academic governance items, including both curriculum and policy. The Academic Governance Manager supports the operational teams, academic teams, and other centralized university teams to accomplish an optimized academic governance approach, according to the University Catalog and approved Academic Governance Agreement. You will report to the Associate Director Academic Governance and Accreditation. This position is remote.
What you'll do:
• Coordinate university academic governance processes, working with partners to support decision-making and ensure proposals follow established procedures for us.
• Oversee the academic program and policy proposal approval process, reviewing submissions for required documentation, program review outcomes, and compliance with governance requirements.
• Manage proposal workflows in Kuali, track approval timelines, and work with department leaders to resolve process issues and exceptions.
• Coordinate agendas, meeting minutes, communications, and follow-up for Academic Program Councils (APCs), the Coordinating Council, and the University Policy Committee on Academics.
• Promote communication between governance councils, working with partners to improve coordination and identify process improvements for us.
• Review proposals and business cases to ensure they are complete, include appropriate partner input, and support informed decision-making.
• Maintain academic governance tools, and systems to support efficiency and compliance with accreditation standards and university policies.
• Provide support to partners navigating academic governance processes for us.
• Complete all required university training by established deadlines.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
What we're looking for:
• 3 years of applicable work experience.
• Technical knowledge to help coordinate project teams.
We believe real innovation comes from inclusion - where different experiences, perspectives and talents are celebrated. So if you're wondering whether SNHU is right for you, take the leap and apply. You might be just the person we're looking for.
If you have a disability and require a reasonable accommodation to fully engage in any part of the application or hiring process, please complete the Accommodation Request form or contact us at 603-626-9447.
